Home from Las Vegas...........
Hi Family and Friends! We're back from our little get away....it was so nice to leave our daily grind. Curt surprised me with a trip to my favorite hotel, the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas...... the room was made for a King and Queen...it was so beautiful and we felt like king and queen for 2 days!! Curt and the kids sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and they were in our room when we arrived. This hotel is so wonderful you don't even need to leave.....there is so much to do and see....and the shopping is fabulous!!! I love this time of year! The Christmas trees and wreaths were decorated so beautifully...I notice these things..... decorating is my hobby.... I tried to talk Curt into staying the whole month....hee,hee...I didn't want to go home! We had such a relaxing time and laughed at some of the bumps in the road.....like.... losing his cell phone on the plane and leaving his wallet on the seat of the cab on the way to the hotel.....but the cab driver returned it to us..30 minutes later.....what are the chances of getting an honest cab driver in Las Vegas?? It frustrates Curt when these things happen and I keep telling him it's not you...it's the tumor. We try to laugh at these crazy things and move on. The good news is....Curt's doctor cancelled his next chemo treatment scheduled for December 14 (our 27th anniv)..yeah... that means he will have all of December off....from Avastin and chemo.... he will still be taking all his meds. Please pray for the blood coming from his nose....to stop......this is an affect from the Avastin. We need to watch it closely....this drug can cause blood clots or internal bleeding so we need to keep an eye on it. He was bleeding for 5 days before he mentioned it to me...he didn't want to alarm me!!! Crazy guy....I need to know these new signs so we can let the doctor know. The doctor scheduled a MRI the week after Christmas and chemo will begin Jan 3rd. Can you believe he has had chemo for a year.....we both need a break this month to celebrate the birth of our Savior and spend time with our loved ones. We both are working on making each day count and enjoying the little things in life along with laughter......it is medicine to our souls. Enjoy this beautiful time of year and we'll talk with you soon. Love, Shari
