a trip to La Jolla........

Hi Everyone! Just a quick update on this last week......Curt woke me up last Thursday night at 11:30pm wanting to go to the hospital. His head was hurting and the blood was still coming out of his nose...it's been about 10 days now. For Curt to want to go to the hospital...I knew he must not be feeling good. We went to Greens hospital in La Jolla and got there about 12:00pm. They checked his blood pressure and it was high and gave him some pain medicine for his head. They told us his blood pressure can go up if he has any pain going on in his head. They also took a catscan of the head to see if there was any clotting going on...and there was not....praise God. We need to watch for clotting and any signs of swelling...Avastin, the drug he takes with his chemo, can cause bleeding and clotting so he is under tight watch. We were at the hospital for about 4 hours and saw the sunrise on the way home. We're noticing the many blessings God gives us every day..... now more than ever.....like the waves crashing in on the rocks, the sunrise, the many colors on the trees that are turning this time of year. ...things that before we took for granted ........not any more!. Oh....we also wished each other Happy Anniversary on the way home.... it was our 27th anniversary on Friday....yeah.... not the way either of us wanted to spend our anniversary....but we were together and held each other tight and praised God for 27 years. Curt is trying so hard to persevere through these obstacles....and it's getting harder and harder to jump through the hoops! It would be so awesome if he could enjoy this month....that is my prayer. We had a calm weekend and tried to rest up and actually did a little Christmas shopping together....yeah!! Thank you all for the cards and emails...keep them coming...they help more than you know!
