last night of chemo.......

Hi Everyone! Curt just fell asleep so I thought this would be a good time to fill you in on the last 2 days. He had a REAL bad reaction to it all! I talked to his main nurse, Sharon, and she felt the seizure medicine was too high of a dose with his chemo for him. Every person reacts differently and I understand that but when your loved one is so sick and there's nothing you can do, you feel helpless. We met 2 men on the same program Curt's on back at Duke this last time. One of them is 3 years into the program and the other about 7 months. They both told us they didn't have much of a reaction at all on the 400mg chemo. So we thought, GREAT, we can get through this ....piece of cake! Not!!! So our story is different! Nothing in life should be taken as Piece Of Cake!!!! God's in control of the whole ballgame! One play at a time, we should never fast forward the plan. Along with meeting the 2 men on the program, his wonderful nurse Barbara, we also met a young lady on the plane coming home, Danilyn. God knew our spirits were low due to missing our plane, we were tired, and flat out wanted to be home! Well Danilyn was a blessing, she was visiting her mom who had cancer and doctors were only giving her a few months to live. They gave her some treatment and she went in for results and they could not find the cancer anywhere! Doctors thought they had the wrong set of files! That was another pocket of hope God gave us that night that helped us when we were feeling a bit low. These stories keep popping up in front of us all the time. We just have to Trust that God knows what he's doing and believe he's holding Curt tightly all the way. Our next trip is Easter weekend through the 12th. I'll keep you posted on how he does on the remainder of this week. The next week or so we're planning for Duke and his next vaccine!! Love you all, Shari
